I’ll admit it: I love shopping. I get excited by the diverse colors, smells, and sounds. It’s amazing when you walk into a bright store and you can’t look in one place for second—there’s so much to look at! The only problem with it is… spending money!
Really, I am so blessed to be able to buy things I need (and want). I only go shopping once every couple months, so it’s always a special time for me and my mom.
Today’s list: racing shoes! First, we stopped at TrySports in Blakeney.
I was looking for a pair of shoes I could use for both track and cross-country. The ideal shoe is sold during the cross-country season (autumn), however. I tried on the next best thing: racing flats. (These were $90.)
They didn’t have much to choose from. Spring track has already started and the salesman told us 13 different high school track teams had already bought shoes from them.
So we left Blakeney, and drove on over to Run For Your Life in Stonecrest.
In August, we bought my trainers there:
The salesman at Run For Your Life showed me some shoes, and they seemed perfect! They were not as flimsy as most track shoes, and he assured me I could wear them for cross-country as well.
Oh yeah. They were only $60 and I got a 10% discount because I’m on a school team.
Calvin wanted to put the spikes in.
These shoes weigh 9 ounces (compare that to my trainers, which weigh 11.7 ounces. I also got a bunch of neon-colored, non-cotton socks.
Check back tomorrow for more about our shopping trip!
China update
I am only $1805 away from my goal of $4090 for China! That means the kind, generous people of the world (mainly friends and supporters of my parents when they were missionaries—and also my friends!) have sent in $2285! That is amazing.
I enjoy shopping, too. Unfortunately, most of the time it has to be window shopping. As a college student, I’m kind of strapped for cash right now.
Looks like you got some good finds!
