Cut your hair!

My friend cut my hair this weekend—I cut at least 10 inches off, to be donated to Locks of Love.
I haven’t regretted it at all! In fact, I love it. Let me count the reasons… I took a shower in less than 5 minutes, and my hair dried much faster as well. There’s less to swing and bounce around when I run. It doesn’t tangle as easily.
PS: My friend, Johanna, is going to school for cosmetology next year! She was very excited to cut my hair and she’d probably cut yours too! (If you live around here.)
Hair is a symbol of pride, is it not? People are very concerned with hair, mostly for shallow reasons—a lot of money goes into maintaining appearances of hair.
I’ve realized a lot of harmful pride in myself. I take pride in my eating habits—vegetarianism, for example—and my health. I take pride in my grades and academics. I take pride in silly things that did not come from something great that I did. And that kind of pride—thinking that I am better than someone else for any reason—is negative.
Cutting off that mess of hair is a little symbolic of my attempts to rid myself of pride and to correct my thinking—I mean, my desperate plea to God to extinguish my unhealthy ego and pride.
Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 (NLT)

I just cut my hair, too. I had it half way down my back and cut it just above chin level. I feel so much better with short hair. Free and easy. My husband didn’t like the change and was concerned that something must be very wrong to make me want to cut my hair so drastically different than it was. It took a while to convince him that I’m OK. I think he’s getting used to the new me.
Someone asked me - What possessed you? I was just ready for a change!
Wow, brave girl! I’ve never had long hair so I don’t know how it feels to give up all that but you look great with both styles
