I beat my time! Finally, I broke my personal record for the 800m. It was Wednesday, the Southern Carolina 3A/4A Conference meet at Porter Ridge High. My time was 2:43 – I did not qualify for the regional meet, but I was still happy with my time. (My previous time was 2:45.35.)
Most of the distance runners PR’d and enjoyed the meet. This is why it’s fun—cheering for teammates, making my mom proud, talking in the shade with some of your best friends… I wouldn’t have that without track.
