I am a young woman, a firstborn, a thinker. I spend too much time using the Internet and dreaming about what I could do. I like cross-stitching, Josh Garrels, books about grammar, and Trader Joe’s roasted corn. Hence, the name of my blog.
I also like communication, writing, and recording. Hence, the blog itself. I write and format my posts with the mind of a perfectionist. I put in long hours, but not consistently.
I share my forays into the kitchen and recipes that I enjoy.
I practice photography and shamelessly plug my Flickr photostream.
I write about my travels, such as the missions trip to China in 2010.
I explore and explain my faith and beliefs about God.
I give my opinion on outstanding books, music, and food products.
I find an outlet for writing about my struggles with healthy habits and my search for balance.
I celebrate my parents and my sister (I have brothers, too, but they’re harder to… celebrate).
I promote my non-profit business/hobby, making friendship bracelets.
I exercise my intellectual muscles along with my physical ones.
I whine about high school.
What about you?
One more thing: this page will probably change nearly as many times as I will, with my unstable teenage whims. But then again, life is all about change.
Life as an MK
I lived in the Philippines, in northern Luzon, as an MK for a total of 5 years, including preschool, and 4th through 6th grade. Being an MK (missionary kid) became a part of my essential being and that can never fade. Experiencing a totally different culture changed me and enriched my life in a unique way. I love that I am an MK and I cherish the memories of the Philippines.

You have GREAT pics here and I can’t believe you’re only 15 and have experienced so much already
Thanks, I really appreciate your comment! It’s true; being the fortunate daughter of missionaries means that I’ve traveled a lot and I’ve been able to encounter many different cultures and ideas. I’m very blessed!
Wow u have an amazing story already and it is so awesome to see young adults choosing to live their lifes for the Lord. I grew up in church and private Christian schools and being a Christian always seemed easy for me and now that I am older and married and have 2 lil ones of my own I can only hope and pray that my life continues to be for Gods glory and that my children will also choose to serve the Lord despite all the distractions and worldly desires that bombard and pollute the lifes of today’s youth!
I love learning more about the mission fields and I also love living a healthy lifestyle. So your blog is a great find!
May God continue to bless u and your family and keep living Jeremiah

Hi Erika! I just checked out your new blog: I can’t believe how much you cook! Your blog is pretty amazing. Thanks for stopping by so long ago, and sorry I never acknowledged it.
Wow, that is really cool! You must have had so many amazing experiences
Jamie, thanks for visiting my blog! It’s kind of random… but I enjoy finding comments from unexpected visitors like you!
Blessings,
As for the Philippines, France, and China, I would say I have been blessed with so many opportunities, but know that I struggle with problems, too. Like today, I realized that I have an idol called achievement, and it controls a lot of what I do. And I don’t like it.
Anyway, I hope you keep reading and that you will find my blog helpful.
Alisha
hi there! i just stumbled across your blog really randomly and was so excited to see that you went on a couple trips with Teen Missions! I went to Nicaragua with them in ’08!
You’re doing a great thing!
I love the books that you’ve reviewed and recommended here on your blog too. And keep up the great work, being vocal about your faith and sharing the Gospel through this blog!
God bless you!
